Often, May is the month of seed planting in this part of the country. In most years , the possibility of frost is over by mid-month and seeds can be planted and seedling plants placed outside as well. This yearly ritual of planting got me to thinking about a spiritual truth in life. That thought is how are our thoughts and actions like the seeds we plant in the ground? First thought is, if you want to grow string beans, you don’t plant carrot seeds. Each seed will, if grown successfully produce its desired result, in this case, string beans!
We read in Galatians 5:22 and 23 that there are fruits of the spirit and they are: “ love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control”
What kind of effect are we having on ourselves and on others? What kind of seeds are we planting by our thoughts and actions. Are we planting seeds that will produce, fruits of the spirit or are we planting seeds that will lead to all kinds of undesirable results?
As you plant your seeds this month, ask yourself the larger question, “how is my life reflecting the kind of results that God will want to harvest on behalf of his entire creation?” Let’s be prayerful about our planting!

God’s blessing of enthusiasm to all!
