Walking For Progress

We often speak about the blessings that are achieved when there is a “return to basics”. Very few would argue that such a return would be a blessing for progress and understand among all people. Now, it seems to me that deciding on what those basics are becomes one of the greatest challenges and problems among the human family. Now, I will suggest but one. That is the clear communication from our Lord that it is important for us in his family to share with others, especially those with less.

Let me quote scripture: Matthew 25:44-45

Then they also will answer, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not take care of you?’ Then he will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’

I believe that this is but one example among many where Jesus points out the great importance of serving him through serving others. Two “hands on” ways we can participate in this life giving sharing (among many) is the CROP walk on October 12, 2014 and through the Neighbors in Need offering that begins on Sunday October 5, 2014. Let us all participate in one of the many ways we have available to make the world that God made a little better place.

P.S. Enjoy the beautiful nature show of colors!
